A man worth his weight was one that holds his words. 

Gi Beom always remember his Grandfather repeat these words. The elderly man would teach and attend Gi Beom competition when he was in elementary school. 

He was so happy during those days. His parents had died according to his grandma by a drunk driver. Gi Beom never knew his parents but he had someone to love him. Until one day his grandma died during his middle school years. 

Then his grandfather passed away when he was in high school. When that happened he dropped out of school never graduated and joined the local gang with his friend. 

The home that he had was gone taken away and he was destitute. The amount of money his grandparents left wasn't much to even survive on to feed him for a month. 

So he learned to steal and acquire items in order to survive. He wasn't good at stealing and as he continued in the gang for three years. He started to notice certain things the gang did that he didn't like and wanted to leave. Especially when he saw women being taken and beaten into submission and each month he was kept around the gang he fear one day they would ask him to commit an even worse crime.

The leader wouldn't let him off and asked for payment of his debt to them since they took him in. 

The heist that he planned he hope was enough money for him to get out of the gang. He had thought his luck was terrible when he was shot off the motorcycle he high jack with the money bag which turn out to be only coupons. 

Gi Beom never realize that this meeting would turn his life around. That he would gain family just from this one single moment where he pick pocket the scary man's phone. 

That Seo Dae Young would profess to being his brother and that he would defend him and pay the money. It was too good to be true, no body would do anything for someone for nothing. At least that was what Gi Beom thought after the world been treating him badly.

Gi Beom was wrong...and he was glad he was wrong. The needful thump of his chest that he thought was his injuries was in fact the emotions of warmth for the very first time. A feeling he recall with his grandparents the man was so serious but there linger a gentleness. 

Gi Beom could only asked this man he consider a brother how he got away from the gang and it was because of him he decided to follow him by enlisting. 

Dae Young had pulled a few strings since he use to be a trainer to get Gi Beom to Urk to serve his military service. 

Gi Beom redeeming skill was being able to cook. He had learn these skills from his grandma whilst his grandpa was away working. He could have been a chef but he never thought he was good enough. Nevertheless here he is in Uruk shoveling and meeting the man that was called Captain Yoo. 

His life was so weird. 

The injury of Captain Yoo ensure he would get a chance at vengeance for the hospital time. The Captain had written on his arm that he was a thief, which was true and to make the treatment painful. The lady doctor smacking his injury was caused by Captain Yoo and thus he was emulating the mans behavior with the pen on the arm. 

It would be during a quiet time in a few days that Gi Beom making Ramen for Dae Young would breech the curious moment of his.

"Hyung." Gi Beom said, "why is it Captain Yoo seem to be distracted and moody?"

Dae Young took a bite of the Ramen and slurs stopping after he swallows, "you remember the hospital right?" Normally, Dae Young would not think he was stupid and would take his time to answer him reasonably and honestly. He really look up to the man as a role model, and even heard about the mans unrequited love for the Army Surgeon lady as he labels her. He hasn't met her yet however, but he plans too one day.

Gi Beom nods his head recalling that day clearly. 

"Do you remember that Lady Doctor?" Dae Young lean back to sipping the coffee from the mug.

"The pretty one..that kept on plummeting the Captain?" Gi Beom asked. He really did like the lady doctor for that.

Dae Young smirked, "His is still hung up on her still and we found out the medical group coming here to help...well she will be on the plane heading here."

"Oh!" Gi Beom considers he did want to see the two ladies that help treat him and thank them, "I think flowers will be nice to give to the ladies coming then." He thought that the Captain would be in love with the pretty physcian.

"Well that's a nice thought. I will provide the list of how many ladies then for the welcoming." Dae Young went back to eating.

Gi Beom copies and contemplates the Captains dilemma, "it would be only right I thank her for treating me. Even though I cause them trouble." He also thought if the lady was here that would mean more agony for the Captain and perhaps romance. He heard that being in the army was rough on the love life of soldiers, but perhaps with her it would mean that the Captain would be in a better mood.

Dae Young rub Gi Beom shave head and pat his shoulder. "Good manners are always right when treating the opposite gender."

Gi Beom files this away like law. 

"A man's worth is through his conduct and honor of his words." Dae Young finishes up his food and stood up. "Curfew is almost soon. Finish up and get to the barracks."

"Yes, sir." Gi Beom said and went back to eating. He realize that the words were similar to those of his grandfather and he gave a smile around his ramen.

Indeed, Gi Beom life was change for the better, he had a nice older brother and people to look after him. He was consider the baby of the group strangely enough and he hope to advance quickly in the ranks to make his hyung proud of him.

This was his second chance after all, every time he said his rank and his full name he smile inwardly, because he was copying Seo Dae Young. The life wasn't easy, but he was enjoying the relaxation and pretty soon Sergent Gong's birthday was coming up and he would have to get materials ready for the mans feast.
