Summary: Beginning of a journey for a woman that has nothing else to lose.
“Your life can’t change
just because you want it to. Maybe if you died and come back to life again.”
These words were so peculiar. Go Ha Jin felt everything was
going wrong for her and then the child that slip and fell into the waters to
her sudden decision to help. She save a child but was suddenly dragged into the
waters as if something wanted to keep her inside its watery embrace. Inside the
water her eyes stared up but were unable to break away from the depths. Enclosed
with water as the light faded to a circle like ring of a moon joined with the
sun.
The feeling of herself being taken away and slowly shifted
and suddenly unable to see anything a state of blankness, she wonder the last
point as she saw her life flash up to the point of fighting her boyfriend and
ex friend and being chased away due to the heavy debts of said bad boyfriend.
Slowly she awakens gasping for breath in deep gulps.
Everything felt weird the clothes the place and why was there a strange men
around her in this place.
She was alive and felt relieved but everything changed. She
wasn’t where she thought she would be.
Lost in a time where woman were not equal and it was easy
for someone to kill one another. She didn’t know what to do. She did not
understand but she wanted to live.
She didn’t want to die, she never appreciated how much it
felt to be alive and once she continued to take breath, she didn’t want to give
it up.
Ha Jin manages to figure out that Hae Soo must have drowned
and died in the water too and somehow she was exchanged into her body. That she
lived whilst the girl that was in this time was supposedly dead. She didn’t
know what this would mean for her. Hiding in a room terrified of the outside
world that look so vast and unreasonable.
There were no modern amenities, she didn’t own anything in
this world and possibly was consider chattel to a man. The idea of democracy
was foreign and ruled by men with vast amount of cruelty from what she could
recall of the current King Reign. Ha Jin knowledge of history wasn’t exactly
exceeding and figuring that the Korean language possibly didn’t even exist
during this time.
Meant she didn’t hold many skills in this area. She didn’t know how she manages to be
transported to Goryeo and into this young body.
She didn’t know what to do. Worse is that she couldn’t pretend to be the
girl since she wasn’t her. Perhaps indicating loss of memory would benefit her
in this case.
It wasn’t until the door was shovel in and she met Prince Wang
Wook that she understood that she couldn’t forever hide inside. His kind words
made her feel safe enough telling her not to be afraid. That he was the one that
brought her to this place and that he would help her until the very end.
At first Ha Jin thought that Wang Wook was saying he was the
one that brought her to this world, however she realize he was referring to the
girl, Hae Soo. His words of telling her to be strong made her gain hope in this
dark desolated place and his reaching out to her made her want to continue
onward. That he stated for her to place her trust into him was the first sign
someone was willing to help.
Ha Jin realized with unhappiness that she couldn’t go back
to the future. That she wasn’t able to change how things were and that she
would have to go forward. That at least she was alive and that she wanted to
live. Survival was everything to her right now.
She didn’t have much going for her back in the future. Her ex-boyfriend
ruining her with debt she would have to work tons of years to even remotely pay
back. But she wanted to live.
So she assumed the role of Hae Soo as she was called. By
what she could figure out she was a lady of standing from a family that held
clout. She was treated well by a cousin and was looking after by concern
servants. It wasn’t exactly a life she understood and she wanted to know how
this was possible. From the future to the past a time stream did she come into?
Then learning that there were Princes out there that there was no way for her
to adjust to the life so easily but make do trying to figure out how to survive
in this place.
It would be an uphill battle and the eight princes were nice
and he wasn’t mean. But then her life spun a little faster, when meeting the
other Princes and bumping into a strangely hurt one, by the name of Prince Wang
So and the feeling of familiarity and comfort from such a dangerous and violent
man.
That’s where she felt her life became more hectic as it was
place into dangerous situations that she didn’t know what to do. So here she is
Ha Jin masquerading as Hae Soo. Perhaps she was getting to use to her
situation, but at least she knew for this point in time, she was alive.
