Author note: There will be a diagram on the M-161A mines. Please do not consider me an expert on any form of weapons I have no ideas on how they work. This is only for the story and usage in the story. *Shrugs*
Summary: Where does he comes up with these ideas?

Yoo Shi-Jin was an exacting kind of man. He had to be, especially with the position he held in the South Korean Army. 

Captain rank mostly a field agent with all of those below him. Persistence is a motto. If the invasion of strategy doesn't go one way then it's best to go from another way, but keep on going.

To Shi-Jin his family is comprise of his father and his friends. He found out that sometimes the comrades he made turn into something black and unseen.

Argus.

That one single name that use to bring him great pride, because the man use to be his comrade, now wretches and withers whenever he thinks about him. To Mo-Yeon he was the Private Ryan that he fought to save, but the story now deviates and he was consider Shi-Jin greatest failure.

So he plots, he plans, and he keep trying to figure out what he can do to stop that man from trying to harm his people or those that are innocence. 

Shi-Jin worried about all those lives lost once Argus went rogue. Now he understood the reason why some men were driven to drinking from all of those books he read through when bored during his cadet days. The guilt and responsibility he felt because he was the one that save Argus from the jaws of death and he should of have let that man die. His Captain died for that man was always whispering on the borderline of his sleep. The blood of his Captain on his hands and Shi-Jin wanted to place his head into his hands and weep.

While dejected by his thoughts the only light entering his slump moment was Kang Mo Yeon. The woman of his heart making it stutters around like a playful puppy and at the same time she was his personal hell because of all the rejections she professes. Shi-Jin wanted to hold her and touch her, Mo Yeon was an oasis in a desert region of his chest tranquil and lovely with peaceful grace. She sooth the batter thoughts of his and at the same time was so hard for him to reach.

Even though now through her mistakes he could be closer and know that her feelings were touchable, just a sip wasn’t enough to clear his parch throat. 

The jeep being wrecked by a landmine always made him think that Mo Yeon had the greatest luck or the worse luck in the world. She seem to incur trouble, or perhaps it was him, he wasn't really sure anymore. Many of his fellow soldiers always said he was a cat with nine lives but he wonder if Mo Yeon was just the same. Landing on her feet when the going gets tough and coming out unscathed.

The landmine was a god sent moment. Shi Jin grew closer to Mo Yeon simply by the incident. The act of god as many of the locals would call the Earthquake moving the landmine off course and yet only one was on the road. Conveniently taking out only the muffler and damaging the axis, but still both of them were not hurt.  

Mo Yeon slid her cellphone out of one of her pockets and checked exclaiming there was no signal in this region. It was plausible since there was no tower, he snapped open his walkies talkie from his utility belt. Trying to call for help or information, however nothing went through and he made a sigh inwardly knowing that this was like a repeat of his day all over.

Shi Jin told her that they were in a minefield and not to go anywhere alone. To protect her he needed her right beside him in case anything goes wrong and at the same time ensure she with her incredible bad luck didn’t trigger off any of these stepping stone of death.

The climbing and securing Mo Yeon when she leap too far into his arms feeling the press of her delicate bone structures in his arms and the fluttering of her heart against his uniform was seductive.

The trailing of her breath on his neck was distracting she couldn’t run from him now. The landmine around them signified danger and he could sense spike of adrenaline race through both of their pulse. One wrong move and it could be over. He would like to chain that woman with him at these moments and yet he felt so strong protecting her like this. 

Shi Jin gave a strong smile to Mo-Yeon, "Stay strong."

Mo-Yeon echoing reassured him that she was holding it together. Not many civilians he knew would be this calm during a crisis, but this woman had iron in her blood with the way she held herself in crises. 

The previous joke of landmine he knew was cruel but here this was a real situation and she wasn’t crying. She was calm and though he first explains that landmine simply blow up when step on compare to movies. Mo Yeon listening to him and the seriousness of his explanation relaxes her. He quip for her to watch the pleasant view of his back and pants while he work, he knew she would get the joke. At the same time he was trying to boast and take her mind off the perils and he knew the smart cookie of a doctor would call him on it.

Her words that he was helpless made him inwardly smile even though his face was all serious and grim looking.

The Captain Yoo Shi Jin didn't want his men blown up he had to make sure to do all he can. Calling them here when nothing is label was dangerous and he want to ensure nothing happen to them. So it would be better for them to work on this danger together so they can go back and schedule a detection crew with Dae Young to go out. Perhaps he could help his old friend to go on a date with the Army Surgeon and get her out of the way of annoying him.

Myung Joo wouldn't tell him anything about what she talked about with Mo Yeon. He fear that the woman said something that would scared away the woman before he could get his seal on her. He hadn't even got a chance to try again to place the rope around her and tie her down to him. Her denials of confession was driving him mad even now she said it wasn't here. Exasperation was nothing new to him, but coming from his target made him want to step over that line, but his father and mother had beaten several times into his head how to act like a gentleman, because their actions would reflect their uniform and that was a big no no.

The first mine that Shi Jin discover while digging at a sideways angle was identifying as an M16A1 anti-personnel mine he contemplated the manufacturing. 

'The M16 mine is a U.S.-made bounding anti-personnel mine. It was based on captured plans of the World War II era German S-mine and has similar performance. The mine consists of a cast iron body in a thin steel sleeve. A central fuze well on the top of the mine is normally fitted with a pronged M605 pressure and tilt fuze. Sufficient pressure on the prongs or tension on an attached tripwire causes the release of a striker. The freed striker is forced into a percussion cap which ignites a short pyrotechnic delay. The purpose of this delay is to allow the victim to move off the top of the mine, to prevent its upward movement from being blocked. Once the delay has burned through, a 4.5-gram black powder charge is ignited, which launches the inner iron body of the mine up into the air (leaving behind the steel outer sleeve). The charge also ignites a second pair of pyrotechnic delays.'[1]

Inwardly his mind already pulling up the schematics. He checked around and identify there were no trip wires attached to the M16A1 rather it look like they use pressure plates. Sure he told Mo Yeon that the mine wouldn't blow up in movies he didn't want her to get the wrong idea and keep on one mine. Normally, mines had a lighter fuse inside once trigger and it would blow no matter what occurs. That was the danger of these weapons and he wanted to ensure she didn't get herself killed before he got out of her a confession. Well okay even beyond that too, he had to protect beauties after all and Mo Yeon fit the category. Not like he would tell her that.

[Author's Note: I don't know much about Mines or all the weapon standards. So forgive me all I can do is use research, but the research might be something I still not comprehend.]

Digging and checking gently each mine Shi Jin  requested a red flag to be handed over, his finger brushing Mo Yeon as he place each stick into the earth to mark the waiting time step of death. With each step he felt her land in his foot prints like a child. Shi Jin had to focus every time his attention keeps lingering on those plump lips the color of lipsticks were not outrageous or over the top.

She was so pretty though he would never say so too frequently in the presence of other men. The soldiers would try to steal her but now with her confession on the speakers in public secure her as his women.

Kang Mo Yeon couldn’t run and all the men on the camp he could hear them label her as Captain Yoo’s lady. It made him quiver with male pride but to keep her would be trying, Piccolo had a sister in law that was a business woman a smart woman that was hard to please.

However, Kang Mo Yeon even materialistic was a reflective woman she in a way was similar to him like a twin mirror but in the more female sense. He could spend his days looking at her and while being separately he could work but always orbit back to her. Shi Jin knew she was trying to use logic to understand his job what it entails. He knew that his job scared the little Lady because anytime if they were serious he would end up gone.

Dusting his hands, Shi Jin helped his lady over the area to safety of the beach. No mines would be set in the soil here since he cleared quite a bit of land and he didn't find any as of yet. He puffed out a breath and thanked her for being there with him inwardly. Though glancing back at all of the flag he noted her eyes gleam with satisfaction.

Mo Yeon Sunk into the floor exhaustion and whine at him of how tired she is he could hear her words stating she isn’t a soldier coming through her expression. Shi Jin found it absolutely cute he could imagine how delightfully cute Mo Yeon was as a child. Chubby cheeks cute button nose looking at him from her squat position it squeeze his heart and he couldn’t help wanting to tease her.

"You did very well." Shi Jin reassure her, "Very well..." Like a baby that finally finish jumping and doing their routine.

Mo Yeon was panting and whine out the complain on what number incident was this for her on death's door and complain how she wreck two cars. Shi-Jin didn't dare tell her it wasn't her that wreck this car but at least she was safe for these two incidents. He also didn't want to remind her of the gun pointing incident of the VIP surgery either.

To take her mind off the incidents he said cutely, "You did..." In reference to the car while saying, "I want our relationship to be a melodrama, but it turn into a action block buster drama instead."

Well it was inevitable he was a dangerous man that carried guns and went to dangerous places, but now he consider it possibly the Doctor Kang of his heart had done so too. Nevertheless she was in the safety of the wards and hospitals in Africa.

"You ruined two cars, so not let’s ruin your lipstick." Shi Jin asked eyeing Mo Yeon for any response a blank look on her face he quickly adds, "Do you have it with you?" 

Doctor Kang of his heart wouldn't have left without something that all woman have. He wonder sometimes how woman manage to stick so much of their belongs into hidden places and bringing them out one by one. Mo Yeon didn't bring any bag like usual, instead all she had was pockets and he knew her cellphone was in there.

Mo Yeon gave him a glare as she handed over her precious lipstick. 

"It's for a good cause." Shi Jin reassured her. Setting a solid stone on the floor he set a medium log on it then line up a drift wood board that he found. Then started to write with the lipstick 'Mine field Do not enter~' Of course proving he did know English and could read and write it. 

After all he didn't graduate from West Point in the States for nothing. 

Mo Yeon give him an unimpressed look making his pride plummet. 

"Lets go." Shi Jin said already moving but Mo Yeon called out for him to wait then started to draw a cute little Skull with Bones crossed. 

"Not everyone reads English." Mo Yeon said and with her finger dab at the lipstick left over and rub it onto her lips. Glancing at the drawing Shi Jin shook his head impressed she kick him down with her logic and she was talented too. 

Doctor Kang was a woman after his heart just being herself. She was a good choice, and already he knew that the grapevine of the military and medics were strong enough that the Commander Yoon would have heard of it. 

It's only time and he admire Mo Yeon behind as she walked in front of him. She was prefect and strong and he was sure she would be able to appease that Yellow Tiger. His eyes slid lower in desire, he would have to make sure to rope her to him today no matter what.

Already he could feel the pounding in his heart over looking at her and he wonder if she tease him with the renewal of her lipstick. He would just have to see won't he?
