The hot springs were relaxing, he hadn’t gone to one for a while, and though handling the check in, to paying wasn’t a problem.

He made a little money and of course Zi Feng would refund him the money for the other two.

The situation from the police station worried him. Zi Feng requested him to investigate on how the reporters manage to get photos, right when he went to confront the newspaper editor. The whole filming felt like a set up and Qing Yang agreed immensely. There was no such thing as coincidences in his opinion.

Fluttering in the water, he heard Zi Feng voice. “Qing Yang…before.” There was a pause.

Qing Yang hums in question opening his eyes to note Zhe Rui position. The older man was off to their right side seeping in the hot water, at least this time he wasn’t trying to drown them in it. If the conversation was something important, he knew Zi Feng wouldn’t advertise it in front of the other man.

“How was your date with Yang Na Na?” Zi Feng said causally.

Qing Yang spluttered, he slipped and slid into the hot water full face and jerked up coughing, rubbing his wet hair from his face he turn to point at Zi Feng, “Not funny!”

“I was only asking, bro.” Zi Feng was giving an innocent aura around him, but Qing Yang knew Zi Feng since they were children and his quirks.

“She is just a friend, okay!” Qing Yang felt a hand tug his hand and he settled back down into the water.

Zi Feng nods his head, cheeks turned up, “Okay, I get it.”

The two quiet down; he noted that Zhe Rui was looking at him, but quickly away. ‘Damn Zi Feng.’

In the changing room, Qing Yang stretched his muscles relaxing, it felt so loose now compare to before. He would have to note to do this again, without anyone around him. Tilting his head he place his wallet and cellphone back into his pocket and walked out, already Zi Feng and Zhe Rui were done.

Surprised by the amount of food that Ya Nuo ordered he looked around at the surplus, indeed Zi Feng’s sworn brother was quite a peculiar man. Thoughtful and considerate, almost like a girl with his gestures, not too many other men would have ordered food. Sweeping the thought aside he sat down, and listens to the conversation.

Qing Yang couldn’t finish eating; just one set of food was enough for him. His phone buzzed alerting him to a message. Sliding it out he tap it to opened the screen.

Yang Na Na: Do you have time?

Wei Qing Yang: With Friends. Why?

Yang Na Na: Can we meet? I have something to show you.

Wei Qing Yang:  I can meet you now. Where are you?

Yang Na Na: Thanks. (GPS Coordinates)

Glancing from his screen to see all three looking at him curiously, “I have to go now.”

Zi Feng smirks, “Going to see your girlfriend?”

“Girlfriend?” Ya Nuo look interested.

“Our, Qing Yang is growing up.” Zi Feng teases.

Zhe Rui was sipping his tea and looking curious at the way Qing Yang coughs and waves them off then exiting quickly.

The stop wasn’t too far from Na Na’s rented home. Qing Yang spotting the familiar presence called out as he came closer. “Hello.” He glances at the items she had around her, a camera, a tripod, and even plastic bags. What was she up too?

Na Na gave a smile happily, “You’re here?”

Qing Yang worries she was staying out this late in the cold, “Sorry, I’m late.”
Na Na waves her hand, “Don’t be sorry. I asked you to come out at the last minute and interrupted your get together with your buddies.” She looks remorseful like it was her fault.

Qing Yang didn’t want to view that look said gently, “Why did you ask me to come here?”

“I want to thank you for helping me find the taste of my mother’s coffee, so I’ve decided to repay you with a visual feast.” Na Na looked pleased.

Qing Yang brows lifted upward, “Visual Feast?” He never heard of such a thing before, but he felt intrigue.

Na Na eyes soften, “Yeah.”

So began the fireworks Qing Yang seen tons of fireworks before, but the happy laughter made him smile, but still it was just fireworks right?

Na Na claps her hands together and pointed, “How is it? Are you satisfied?”

Looking all pleased, he said in an even tone, “its fine.”

Na Na looks incredulous by his response, “It’s only fine? Why are you so hard to please?” She made unhappy sounds here and there.

Qing Yang watches her eyes light up with a thought, Na Na exclaimed, “No problem I have another trick.” Lighting two sparkles she place it into his hands, while running to set up her camera and tripod. He look uncertain at the camera and back down to what he was holding, what was she up too now? It feels like he runs around in circles when it comes to this girl. He didn’t know what was going on in her head.

“It’s starting.” Na Na ran to him and between his arms, “Okay put the two sparklers sticks into one hand and let’s make a round circle like the sun.” Following her directions, he look at her and the camera, they probably look like idiots to other people, but luckily no one was around them.

Na Na kept on bossing the next instructions, “Okay! Next, I’ll write ‘LO,’ and you write ‘VE’. “She said happily, standing beside her he started to focus to write it.

After a few more difficult and strange requests, that silly girl, ran off to grab the camera dragging him along with her to sit down, he wondered about her sanity.

Na Na flips through the images “Look.”

The first image was of them making a circle together it really did show up the flames from the sparklers, Qing Yang couldn’t help making a noise, “Wow.“

Then another photo, Qing Yang said, “Oh, so it turns out like that.”

Na Na nudges him with her shoulder and laughs, “We have good teamwork.”

It made him feel strange, because she was right, they did. Qing Yang never synchronizes with anyone that easily. It felt nice. Zi Feng told him about his moment when Pi Ya Nuo peak his interest, the Wing style martial artists. The instant attraction, Zi Feng exclaims of how it felt good to have someone by his side fighting. That they were able to pull off amazing moves just by a glance a movement. It felt like Ying and Yang joining forces to become complete.

Qing Yang didn’t dare remind Zi Feng that Ying and Yang sometimes didn’t exactly mean teamwork; rather it also governs that of balance between those of female and males. Then again he simply let his friend go on that.

Na Na jerked him out of his thoughts, “What do you think of the heart?”

It was a bit lopsided, but still nice, Qing Yang lips quirked up, “Not bad.”

Na Na continued on talking, “I will send you these pictures so that you can keep these memories.”

Qing Yang couldn’t help but say, “Thank you.” To that girl, it was nice, her making memories, perhaps it was true, those that live through trauma appreciate one day by one day.

Na Na shuffles her eyes turned away to look at the sky, “Actually, I should be thanking my mom. She taught me these techniques.”

Na Na’s softness for her mother drew Qing Yang again, even after seven years he missed his own parents, but by the sound of it. Na Na’s loss was recently and not that long ago, “So not only can your mom make coffee, she also does photography?”

Na Na look so proud of her mother, “Not only that. She can also draw and make desserts.  She is a super talented woman.” She look content, “My mom once said, in life, although we are unable to predict what is going to happen next. As long as we live life to the fullest every day, and direct ourselves closer to happiness … Even if life is very short, it can be bright as fireworks.”

Qing Yang didn’t like the reference, because to him that means his time with others wouldn’t be long, those that he love would most likely pass away. The elders as he label his Uncle whom took care of him these seven years he was getting older, and his time would dwindle away. “But we will never be able to hold onto fireworks brightness. Just like happiness…we can’t hold it in our hands.” His memories turned his mood dark.

Na Na spoke softly touching his arm, “What’s wrong?”

Qing Yang felt a jealously inside him now toward this bright creature, “Nothing. I just…I Quite envy you.”

Na Na lips parted in surprise, “You envy me?” She shift her head already he could see she didn’t understand, “Hey, Wei Qing Yang. Do you know what friends are for? They are there to share your happiness and sadness with. So…if you have some stories, you can tell me. I will be a good audience.”

Qing Yang wasn’t in the mood to talk about his problems, he always kept his thoughts and problems inwardly, feeling a chill in the air, he stated, “It’s already late. You still have work tomorrow. Let’s go.”  He would take this girl back to her home; it was too dangerous outside for someone like her, what if she was attacked? She being anemic and ill would mean that she would have a hard time defending herself.

Na Na exclaims, “Wei Qing Yang, Wait for me!”

The walk was quiet and calm back, he could feel her concern as she walked beside him. Looking at his face, “You...are you okay?”

“I am alright, but maybe…someday I will tell you.” Qing Yang said the silent words of ‘just not yet.’ He led her home, watching her head up the stairs, she waves at him and he nods his head, turning away. Looking at the sky he took a breath and sighs, he didn’t want to make her unhappy.
