Chapter 1 Journey To Albert Schweitzer
Kang Mo Yeon was beginning to get very tired of sitting in on a meeting with the board of Hae Sung Hospital, and doing nothing but listening to the old timers yammer along; once or twice she had peeped at her phone, but there were no new messages, and what is the use of having a boyfriend that always was busy.
So Mo Yeon considering in her own mind, whether the pleasure of sneaking out would be worth the trouble of getting caught by those elders and that relentless Director Han. There was nothing so remarkable in the meeting and all she could hear was the discussion of aiding more relief help, since the last time they had a volunteering it was consider a success and Hae Sung Hospital reputation raised in the ranks of the best.
The arrogant Kim Eun-Ji was on suspension for the ineffectiveness of her ability to be a doctor, supposedly the Pharmaceutical Company her Uncle own was under fire thanks to Daniel Spencer. She should feel bad that she hinted toward the man in regards to the business deal they were trying to off shoot onto her.
Director Han exclaimed, "Our regular celebrity Doctor Kang did a splendid job as before, perhaps she would like to take another adventure toward the U.N. facilities as our representative."
Calmly Mo Yeon stated, "I think the best representative would be our Director Han. After all it is a big mission, and he seem quite knowledgeable of resources that Hae Sung can provide to the U.N." Daniel's chats with her prove to be effective in training her in dealing with insistent fools, however, the elderly observe her and she could tell they wanted to make this into a big deal.
The rabbit-hole scenario where she would end up straight down the tunnel some way or another, regardless of how she protested, they like the idea she is pretty and her skills bring her to light now. Her work with the military was like a green light to many of the old farts that she would dealt well with those in militias and be able to handle what they consider as a peace mission.
Obviously, these men never experience the trauma and dangers of being out in the field and it vexed her that once again, she may be submitted to another zone where they dare not travel. Unhappily, she was right in regards to the greedy gleam in the men's eyes.
"Our Doctor Kang's titles do become longer, and she does represent what we want to sell to our clients...perhaps this job would be good for her." Doctor Woo said adjusting his round glasses.
Director Han inwardly smirked, he could be petty because the woman had rejected him and with Doctor Kim Eun Ji's parents bringing him grief because of their daughters law suits. He felt frustrated and wanted to punish whom he believe was the cause of his agony.
"Of course, she wouldn't be sent alone there to evaluate the U.N. and their needs, she will have a small team with her and we would request from ROKA assistant in protecting our VIP Doctor." Doctor Park smiles, "We cannot afford to lose one such as you, Doctor Kang."
Indeed, their sales and the board from the broadcast would be incredibly mad and cause a bunch of complaints.
'Well!' thought Mo Yeon to herself, 'after such a horrific meeting, I am going to go and break the news to my staff.' She knew Ji Soo would be throwing a fit, after the few scares she had from Mo Yeon it was inevitable that once again she would be gathering forces to support her.
"The meeting is adjourn then..." Director Han answered jerking Mo Yeon from her thoughts.
Presently Mo Yeon began again to tug out her cellphone and start to text a short message to her boyfriend. 'Code Red.'
Code Red was a keyword they set up when something is super important and if neither one of them were consider busy they would answer one another. Director Han slid up close and whispered, "Do you think your army boy would be able to go on this mission?" He adjust his suit, "You should of dumped him and come visit me instead."
"I thought this mission was supposedly, going to be a important mission for our hospital...is it not?" Mo Yeon asked, but turned her attention back to the gold cellphone in her hand when it ping.
'E.T.A. twenty minutes, Coffee Shop.'
"Is that him?" Director Han tries to grab her cellphone, but she slid it again and walked away from the frustrated man.
"Bye!" Lately the man was getting more over bearing, Mo Yeon couldn't figure out why the man didn't seek another toy, there should of been plenty out of there. Musing to herself at how fast her reflex were growing thanks to her boyfriend, Mo Yeon runs off and down the corridor.
Mo Yeon was quite fast when she wanted to be, there were doors all round the hall, some were open and some locked; and when Mo Yeon been all the way down one side and down the stairs, she finally arrive to her destination of the front doors to the hospital. The coffee shop Shi Jin knew about would be close to her work place, it was an impromptu place for him to pick her up. Already arriving with five minutes to spare, she heard the squeak and turn to see her white Hyundai car speeding toward her.
Big Boss her car stop suddenly beside her, Mo Yeon glances and smiles at seeing her worried boyfriend. In a split second, after securing her seat belt the car rounded away fast and quickly, "I got your message..." His dulcet voice came over as he glances in the rear view mirror.
"It's important..." Mo Yeon stated, "The Director Han volunteer me to be Hae Sung representative to the U.N. meeting to estimate the need for further Medical assistant."
Stiffening of Shi Jin shoulder as he turned the wheel, said it all that he knew about U.N. next meeting place was normally in New York, which was a safe location in America, "The meeting ist in a safe place but I have a feeling they want you to go to outskirt places to estimate the conditions of those places."
"Yes. They said meeting with U.N. but I assume it's mostly mission places. I assume hot spots in Middle East where Arab states are located." Mo Yeon notices the tightening around Shi Jin's fists, "They are going to request assistance from ROKA to guard the medical team that they spare to me."
"Why again?" Shi Jin turn the car toward Mo Yeon's home, he wasn't in a hurry anymore, but he felt like this whole situation was different then before. "We don't have presence in most hot spots. If they put you in Uruk I would feel reassured."
"I went to your last known location before remember?" Mo Yeon watches how his face scrunches up not happy.
Stopping the car, sliding out the key he turned to tug Mo Yeon into his arms. "Why do they keep on sending you far away every time I finally get back?"
After a while in his embrace, finding that nothing more happened, she decided to pull away, finger's gently stroke through his hair, "You picked a doctor and I picked a soldier. I don't know if you can come along or not...?"
"I can make a request." Shi Jin said, "It would be up to the person in charge of course."
"No pulling strings?" Mo Yeon laughs, "I guess not since you no longer are consider a son in law."
Soon, Shi Jin eye fell onto that beautiful smile and he tweak her nose with thumb and forefinger, "Afraid not, but we do have friends that could probably help."
"That's the best part of seeing the army like a family." Generally, Mo Yeon gave herself very good pep talks, Shi Jin not throwing a fit was absolutely normal, she seriously doubt her mother would be fine with the changes once again. Last time she headed to Uruk her mother was having a heart attack, the talk of marriage and grand kids kept on coming up. "I could call Myung Joo..."
Her mouth was taken by Shi Jin's own the man probably was holding off and the word Myung Joo always sour him, since she ended up stealing Mo Yeon away to a girls day off when Shi Jin was hoping to score with Mo Yeon.
Laughing softly once her lips were parted from Shi Jin's, the man always look so serious when concern, "I get it. I won't call then, but see what you can do. We could pretend our jobs if you are sent with me is for fun."
"Albania was a dangerous place for you...I didn't want you there." Shi Jin said, "You didn't even have back up when you went to give my funeral rites." Perhaps cautious was a second nature of the younger man that weasel his way into Mo Yeon's heart.
"I know." Mo Yeon rub his cheek with her finger, "Come inside, we can order food and I can finally get a chance to take a bath."
Shi Jin back straighten, "I still want to watch!"
"Baby." Mo Yeon stuck her tongue out of her mouth unlocking the door she headed out.
"That's a yes?" Shi Jin flip open his own door and locked the car.
