Chapter 3 Airport-Break In and Discussion

There was always a great deal of confusion, immense noise, and a touch of chaos to flavor the coming and goings of passengers arriving toward the airport. Some were already a bit travel weary from their flight into Seoul; others were running on anxiety of anticipation. Those departing from the airplane walk down causeway to the exit where family to transportation were awaiting them.

Shi Jin exited the area already with his carry-on bag. He remembered, that today Mo Yeon had told him over the phone her plans to meet him at the airport. The impromptu mission assigned the last minute was only supposed to last two week, but ended quickly with all clear in less than one week.

Lifting his head, his eyes skim the surface of faces until locking on the familiar figure that was smiling him two cups of coffee cups in her hand made him smile in greetings. Pace quickening the air condition of the airport breeze through his short hair making him shiver.

Heading straight on course to Mo Yeon he set down his bag and took one of the coffee cups offered. "The coffee still warm."

"Unlike you, I am good at checking schedules." Mo Yeon then quirk an eyebrow, "at least this time I manage to catch you at the airport."

"Yes, your facial mask you put overnight means it is not waste." The Major teases her but hoists his back over his shoulder and follow behind her. He note her derriere encased in a tight skirt. "Did you
Get off television?"

"Why do you say that?" The glance back at him made him smile.

"Because you make effort to clean up and wear skirts on television instead when we meet." Shi Jin said, "Though I feel discomfort seeing you so appealing to other males."

"Ah. I see." The woman still didn't answer his question and it was off putting. Shi Jin travel on the escalator and down to the car parking lot. Mo Yeon said cheerfully, "place your baggage in the trunk of Big Boss please."

"The timing feels off." Shi Jin complains.

The beep and the trunk pop up, he slip the bag in and shut it. "You do know...that I have training to off annoying people." Pressing Mo Yeon against the door and leaning closer.

"You know I am more well train with knives?" She batted her eyes at him and then jerks her head to the side, "get into the car major."

"The timing is off..." Shi Jin slipped into the passenger seat after ensuring that Mo Yeon was seated in the driver’s seat.

The car was in traction in no amount of time, Mo Yeon breaches her concerns, "your mission took up a time and our deadline to leave for Libya is coming up."

"The department needed us but this mission will be considering a picnic. I thought you were going to the States?" Shi Jin needed the roster and information packet soon.

"In approximately a week we will be off, I will spend today with you and well, I still got surgeries to do and then head home to pack." She always likes to have her list down pack.

"Alright, let's have lunch and dinner...together." Shi Jin figure a nice excursion was in order for today but not too far.

"Mm okay." Mo Yeon laughs.

A happy Mo Yeon entered the hospital already to work the night shift. She hums happily opening her locker to shift the dirty clothes into her bag. She will have to get her clothes wash since time was drawing close and she has to get ready for the trip.

Getting her hair tied up and her jacket out she heard her phone buzz. "What?"

The security system of her home just activated and the security were calling her. "Yes?"

"Miss Kang?" A man over the line asked.

"Yes?" She grew worried

The man continued, "I am from Seoul Securities...your home has be broken in...we arrive on the scene with the police but we were too late to catch the thief."

"Oh, no...I am at work right now giving me half an hour and I will try to get there soon." Mo Yeon whines,

"Why me?" She hurried off.

After spending an evening going over the police report and all the background notes Ji Soo had given her on the break in of her home, Mo Yeon was no longer sure Ji Soo was doing her a favor with a referral on the repairman. It was a messy problem, with several strikes on her safety and security.

Shi Jin had been anything but a model of support when he picked up. In fact, Mo Yeon remembered as she glanced through the police report again, he had swung on by with a bunch of his buddies to help salvage anything that she had in her home. The men had in fact been pretty delicate when helping her packing up her items, and then had offered to take her items to be place in storage until her place was fixed.

Even before the insurance company had confirmed her policy was active, they had already offered to place her up in their homes, which was sweet of them but she didn’t feel comfortable. Shi Jin had giving glares to them and she said with a bright smile that she would be fine staying with Ji Soo or even at the hospital.

The hospital had tons of spaces for crashed out doctors and even include bathroom and shower facilities, so Mo Yeon wasn’t hurting, at most the only thing discomforting was the soap that was offered at the hospital and the smell of disinfectant.

With a sigh, Mo Yeon closed the file, and then rubbed the bridge of her nose. She’d form her own opinion that the break in was particularly due to the security breach on the knowledge of where she live through the media. Glancing around at the crisp clean wall of Ji Soo’s office she lean back stretching Mo Yeon thought that the frivolous Saturday morning she had with Shi Jin only a few days before felt so long ago. The relaxation she had while staying in Shi Jin arms felt so long ago.

The heavy door of Ji Soo’s office opened. Mo Yeon greeted Shi Jin with a smile. “I was wondering how long it would take you to find me, Major Yoo.” She teases.

Shi Jin dropped down in a chair at the side of her own and reached forward to touch her hair. Mo Yeon jerked away, “I didn’t wash my hair…” A snort was her response and he lean back to take a glance at what she was reading.

“I know you didn’t wash your hair. You tend to do that a lot.” Shi Jin lips quirk up.

Mo Yeon glares at Shi Jin, “Thanks for the vote of confidence.” She dismissed him and focuses her attention to crack her back into place.

Shi Jin hums and his hands went forward to pull her into place and hug her. “I already got people in to help fix your flat. You don’t have to worry too much, the insurance money can cover the furniture and items you had that were stolen or wreck.” He rubs her shoulder sin comfort, lingering on the knot in her shoulders. “Also I am having installed better securities.”

“Install securities?” Mo Yeon turns her head to stare into her boyfriend’s eyes, “and who would be doing that?”

“Dae Young is good at fixing doors. Choi and Gon are pretty good at installing surveillance.” Shi Jin laughs at her uncertain look, “Also it won’t cost that much.”

“I cannot afford expensive government devices you know.” Mo Yeon complains.

A disagreeing expression appeared on Shi Jin face, "it's not costly. The parts can be purchased from a computer goods store. Snoopy's wife also runs a business." He kneads the tension in his girlfriend back and feels the knot loosen.

Mo Yeon felt a flash if gratitude and relief, "thank you."

"It's no trouble and besides it brings me comfort that you have higher security when I am gone." He also didn't add that he would be able to tap into the feed to double check on her.

Mo Yeon whines softly, "I cannot believe this even happen to me in the first place."

"You are famous." Shi Jin knew that it made their relationship difficult since his existence was pretty much cloak and dagger. HaeSung's director trying to find information on him was a ball of laughter. Special Forces were pretty tight lip on where their men go. "I've talked to Pyo Ji Soo. She tattles that you haven't been resting enough."

She spent a lot of time, to Shi Jin's mind, wandering around in the emergency operation room working. Taking what appears to be many night shifts to copious amount of interns into surgeries the record for tonight was a total of five surgeries all major and not minor. The hallways were riddle with exhausted interns from assisting Doctor Kang. The mammoth whiteboard with flashing named always listed her name and time in and out of the rooms. It put to shame those that always ridicule his girlfriend.

Mo Yeon became defensive from her exhaustion, "I know myself well enough."

"Yes, and you went through a shock at discovering what appears to be safe is violated." The soldier in Shi Jin insisted that he bundle up his woman and take her to somewhere secure for her own mental well-being. "You’re afraid of your own home and since it's not ready yet for you. My father has insisted that you stay over at our home until you and I head out to the U.N. mission. Ji Soo stated she signed you on leave for a good forty eight hours."

Shi Jin stops kneading her back and stood up to tug her to her feet. His reflexes were quick to grab her purse and jacket all in one go as he hustle her out of Ji Soo's office. The blue shade of his Hyundai was waiting for them in the parking lot.

Mo Yeon remains quiet lost in her thoughts guiding hands have open his passenger door to help her in. Seat belt fasten he headed around to his own door and open it before slipping in. It was interesting watching her zone out state and her mouth moving as she seems to be restraining her yawn. "Close your eyes and I will let you know when we are there."

He noted she actually listens and was already closing her eyes, he started the engine, reverse gear, then forward shift and they were off.

The drive would take an hour to get to his father's house. He didn't inform Mo Yeon that the home that he live with his father actually only had two rooms. One for his parents well now it was for his father only and the secondary room was the one he was raised in. The fact he was bringing her to his home and letting her sleep in his room. Would be embarrassing enough and whilst Mo Yeon mother was all for Shi Jin to do something nontraditional. His father would skin him alive and some more for dishonored any woman. So he would be sleeping on the couch, he had file a two day leave to stay with his father prior.

So this all fit into his fly by the seat if his pants plan. He carefully sneaked a glanced at Mo Yeon noting how her breath came in small puffs. She must be really tired, they arrive soon enough. The lights were on signifying that his father was awake waiting for them. He made to shake Mo Yeon awake but change his mind seeing the dark circles under her eyes.

Taking out his Samsung phone he tapped away to alert his father of his presence and to open the door for him. With that taken care of he'd unlocked Mo Yeon seat belt and went out of the driver door walking around to open the passenger side. Carefully he lifted her into his arms a soft sigh tickle his ear and he brush his lips gently against his woman's cheek. With a bump of his hips he shut the car door, the keys were still in his right hand so he flick the lock function and the car was sealed. He would go back to grab Mo Yeon's stuff. Careful not to jostle her awake he move steadily the door was opened.

Yoo Young Geum was waiting there peering into the dark he whispered, "Is she okay?"

Shi Jin step through the door way as the door was shut by his father. Murmuring softly a response, "yes she just over exerted herself. I am going to put her in my room and go back for her items."

Young Geum nods his head, "alright. After you’re done we have something to discuss."

"I understand, father." Shi Jin carries Mo Yeon down the hallway and into his room on the left. The bed was prepared with new bedding of blue the cover were then down that it was easy for him to set Mo Yeon onto the covers before bending down to take off her shoes. He works cautiously so not to wake her up, including removing the outer coat, his eyes linger at the cuff end of her sleeve. She had gotten blood once again into her clothes. He would have to make a note to get his mother shirt from the closet and offer it for Mo Yeon, since she didn't have any clothes with her.

Moving her gently under the coverlet he slid it over her to keep her warm. His index finger lightly brushes her cheek and with one last glance he exited and shut the door quietly.

Making way down the hallway and out of the house he gathers Mo Yeon purse and his own ruffle bag and entered the house once again. He noted his father was spreading a few blankets onto the couch and even had a nice hot tea ready for him. Shucking his jacket off settled onto the chair across from the made up couch.

"Son." Young Geum began. "I know that you told me about the break in, but I admit I am surprise that you went this far to ensure that pretty lady safety."

"I know that the mission I had...brought along a delay in my proposal to her." Shi Jin tugs his sweater at the neck. "And the incident that place Doctor Kang in great deal of stress delay it some more."

"I still have yet to meet Mrs. Kang." An unhappy frown put Shi Jin on edge, "her mother keep insisting that I should make a baby with her daughter, but I keep informing her that I am traditional."

"Her response?" Young Geum prodded his son.

"Her response was that I was naive." This earned a chuckle from his father.

"I was serious, son." Young Geum became stern. "Propose to her before you leave on that mission with her.  Did you at least manage to buy her a ring?"

"Yes, I bought the ring when I made it to Major with her earrings." The tall tailing sign of embarrassment evident from Shi Jin ears. "I just hope she doesn't reject the proposal."

"It's the point you need to lasso her to you." Young Geum said, "With a ring, men would take notice of your claim and it would afford her some protection."

"That's quite true." Shi Jin then shook his head, "wait but we are leaving in forty-eight hours."

Young Geum narrows his eyes, "and you promise me a meeting with her mother and that you have finish all the bullet points."

"I could request the meeting, but it depends on the timing." He hedge under his father's glare. "Her mother does have a life."

"You have her phone number?" Young Geum was not letting up.

Giving a wary look at his father he nodded in affirmative. "Call her and we will set up a time. Your lady needs her mother after that nasty shock of that break in."

"I will contact her in the morning." Shi Jin finishes his tea, "also brush my teeth later I am going to sleep now."

The exchanges of good night and the man lumber to the master bed room. Shi Jin flip into his back exhausted, punching the cushion of the pillows. His hand reaches out and he sends a text to Alpha Team in regard to meeting place and being ready with their gear. The medical team going with Mo Yeon would be Hae Ja Ae, Choi Min Ji, Song Sang Hyun, and with tons if bickering it seems that Lee Chi Hoon made it on the list.

The surprise for Shi Jin was that Kang Min Jae one of the kids saves from Uruk power plant had joined the military. He is station soon in Korea and would be joining the group in Uruk. Where Kim Gi Beom was doing well enough in rising through the ranks possibly the kids would attempt to transfer to where ever they land, but Shi Jin hope not.

The time he fell asleep was quite late, the smell of bacon and eggs rouse him awake. The image of Mo Yeon doing the cooking was a shocker. His own father was having a cup of coffee watching him like a hawk. Well that was quite a turn off. Stretching he made his way to his bag and grab his tooth brush and toiletries out. Then hurried to the bathroom to relieve himself and go through the routines.

It was quite a shocker how well his father adapted to Mo Yeon. After finishing he hurried to his phone snagging it to place a call to Mrs. Kang. The agreeable voice and exchange of address to his father's home equal everything was all set.

The cozy feeling he enters to was a sight for sore eyes. The lady of efficiency that was Mo Yeon wasn't a surprise, her buttering a toast for his father was however and quite disturbing how sweet his father was to her.

"You’re too skinny. You work too hard." Young Geum fussed, "are those lad in that hospital not even working to help you?"

"Which lads?" Mo Yeon indulges the elder and set Shi Jin plate in front of him when he sat down.

"Thanks." Shi Jin cut into the runny yolk of the eyes and soak it up with a piece of bread.

"That arrogant director you told me about and these crackpots that are sending my favorite little doctor to the outside world." Young Geum bites into the toast, "that television station you help out I have seen how incompetent they are without you."

"He is right, I heard from Ji Soo on the commentaries from the producers and how much trouble they were having with your stand in." Picking up his coffee cup he savors the brew wondering if his father had changed the beans.

"Mmm. They had Doctor Kim...you know that horrific woman you said hi...too...try to give advice on the television." Derisive sneer slip over her lips, "she insulted half of the staff and even gave the wrong information on a common issue of skin...rash."

"What did she advise?" Shi Jin grew curious.

"She gave the name of an ear drop to be used in eyes which can lead to blindness. While professing to get rid of rashes that getting Botox is a must." Mo Yeon said in a bored tone.

A spew of his coffee to the air and the poor Major had to pound his chest to breath from the surprise of how bad that advise was and all that repercussion. "You said she was offer the job before she ditches it?" He wheezed.

"She misdiagnosed eight out of ten of her patients from her office." Mo Yeon lifted her nose and sniffs, "I didn't mention the two that wasn't misdiagnosed is not treated correctly with the prescription she prescribed."

Young Geum sat up straight. "Giving this woman a license is considered criminally negligent. Shouldn't she be unlicensed before she results in a death?"

"Her family is rich...and they spend load of money to keep her out of trouble...though she almost did kill a patient when I was in the Operation Room with her...lucky I was able to mend what she did." Mo Yeon sighs, "she is a menace and I am glad she isn't going out to the outfield where the U.N. are sending us...she probably end up killing all of them by negligence."

"I thought you said you weren't taking her night shifts?" Shi Jin finishes his food and tipping off his own cup.

Mo Yeon makes a face, "that surgery was before I ended up in Uruk."

The doorbell rang drawing the three attentions, "I will go get it” Shi Jin exited the room quickly in hopes of not angering his girl. Popping the door open he ducks his head into a boy, "Good Morning, Mrs. Kang." He was surprise by how quick the woman made it over and he wasn't change in his best, "you have arrived quite early."

Gi Ae pinches Shi Jin cheek, "told you to call me mother."

"Mmffhmm…Mother." Shi Jin didn't know what it was with the Kang household but the women were very hard for him to say no too.
