Qing Yang had nothing holding himself back anymore. The time was lingering close he learn about the surgery and has been trying his best to keep Na Na fed and healthy. After settling Na Na to sleep he would check on her secretly and watch her sleep in her bed. She was quiet so much he had to peer closely to see the rise and fall of the blankets to know that she is breathing.

Uncle Tian was fine with him doing this; he had discovered him checking on Na Na constantly in the night time. Breathing in deeply, he knew she wanted to conceal the surgery and her health. In respect to her wishes and his Uncle Promise to her, he couldn’t let her know that he knew. In his room he pull out a note book inside was filled with a list of wishes that he copied from a book he discover from Na Na’s room.
A month after her surgery would be her birthday. A rainy season day in Taiwan by what he could tell and he knows she want to spend time with him. Have a regular date when she can stretch her arms outward. He wanted to see her smile without fear or regret.

Qing Yang would take each moment with her and date her then engage her. Zi Feng already was way ahead at a pace of astonishing rate, the man was scared that Ya Nuo would disappear on him. He didn’t realize that moment for Zi Feng was eye opening and he now was in the same position. The woman he loves, the child that call him her little sun was the moon to his light.

Gravitating slowly toward one another in the sky back and forth flirting and having fun with one another, she was a breath of fresh air in his stifled world. He wouldn’t lose her; the surgery will have to be a success. This time they can help support her surgery and help obtain the best care.

It would be greedy of him, but he wanted to see her filled with his love reflecting his happiness back whilst supporting life in her womb. Even if she did not, he wanted her to love him and vice versa. He may not know where his parents are, but he wouldn’t let her go.

The morning came quickly, he gotten ready and went to check up on her. She was already dressed in her normal clothes; he would have to treat her to better clothes later on. Her eyes gleam with happiness as she said she would be heading out. The simple bunny that she name Guo Lai was with them now. He had purchase the small little white with orange fur after looking through multiple bunnies.

A cute one that she seems pleased with and happy with that she hugs him tightly. Her arms felt good around him and he wanted more, but he would have to self-control himself. When she was better and healthier he would move fast at a pace that won’t scare her. Watching her comeback was a relief she hurried over to the cage he left near him as she pull out her bunny girl and started to call herself Mama and him daddy. He felt it amusing the playing house, but Zi Feng's own Ya Nuo did the same. Perhaps it was a girl thing?

Qing Yang could feel her eyes on his back as he made the coffee. The information he was gaining on the cuff link was already in process, he sent out men to gather information for him. As well he started to look at brochures of places that he might consider showing Na Na when she got better. In an article there were talks about Glowworm caves in New Zealand’s Waitomo Caves. It look like shower of stars falling down though he wasn’t comfortable of traipsing through the depths and avoiding eels in a cavern. He figure he could use a projector of some sort in a theater to display the video making it look like she was able to see these wonderful sights.

A picnic in a theater of a projector though it wouldn’t be as complex as the International Rain Room exhibit at MoMa at London that was created by the creators project that allow people to walk in a room without getting wet.

Though it would be funny since Taiwan had plenty of rain storms but he didn’t want her to get sick so easily. A place that she can remain dry and happy to view the world that he couldn’t take her too since it was dangerous. Museums, amusement parks, and safer locations would be idea for now until she becomes adapted to everything.

Food of any type would be great to introduce her too. Perhaps Korea was a nice place to try for, since it was close by including Japan. He wanted to see Na Na in a Japanese kimono, he wanted to see her try new things and give him a glow of happiness.

Qing Yang didn’t want her to be sad anymore.

Today he would do what Na Na had been teaching him since the very first day he had met her. He had purchased a surprise for her, a sky lantern to let her make her wishes. Na Na always seems happy with anything that flies around, balloons, kites, airplanes, and now a sky lantern.

He would every year do these little things for her. He planned to use butterflies one day but for now a lantern with their wishes was the best. Watching Na Na praying heavily, he prayed for her surgery to be a success, if he couldn’t keep anyone else he would want her beside him. To him she was his future happiness.

Children, family life, never to be alone, he would be gambling everything in hopes she gets better and stays with him. Her lips pressing against him during these last few days were a blessing and her naughty light brighten his day.

The night passed away quickly and tomorrow came in brightness of morning light. The suitcase she had was going with her in the ruse of her fake trip, but for Qing Yang he couldn’t bear to let her go without trying to give her more hope to live.

The kiss he pressed against her forehead would be the first step, “I will be here waiting for you to come back.” He murmurs as he held her tightly. Comforting her and granting her strength, he knew her fear he could feel her heart thumping and the trembling. This is what he could do for her.

‘Fight well, and come back to me.’ Qing Yang thought, ‘Be strong.’ He watches his Uncle leave with her and he sat down staring at the wall.

A ping alerted him to his phone.

Yang Na Na: Take care of yourself and our daughter. I Love you.

Qing Yang smiled at the message and took a breath in. She didn’t know he would be there too. Glancing at his cellphone he noted the text message from Pi Ya Nuo.

Pi Ya Nuo: I will be joining you for her surgery as support for Uncle Tian. I will see you there.

Zi Feng really did find a great woman. She was caring for the family, which says a lot compare to other people he had seen. His brother in arms really did need to keep this one close by and he knew he was too.

Arriving at the hospital he watches from the shadow with Ya Nuo at the way Na Na deals with Xing Tian. His lips turn downward and he could recall all of the things that had happened and the reasoning behind why Na Na reassure her father not to cry.

Qing Yang hated to see his Uncle cry and somehow he wonder if his girlfriend knew as well that her father would be upset and crying his eyes outside. The handing of the coffee bean pendant was something he understood that she was going to come back for that.

The light turn up on the door indicating the surgery that would now start soon. His Uncle back facing him while the necklace hanging in his hand, already he knew that his Uncle was scared to death. He didn’t think the man could survive if Na Na dies. He wasn’t sure if he would be the same as well.

The hours went on and he felt exhausted as he sat on the bench pressing his hands to his face. Na Na was all he could think about, her smile their first meeting, her belief that her mother arrange the meeting for them to find one another.

The ups and downs of their relationship with one another and how much they complement one another, the strain of silence as he sat in the cold hospital corridor waiting and waiting. The light was bright in his mind and he notice familiar shoes and slowly looks up.

‘Don’t look so sad, give me a smile.’ Na Na face was bright and he reaches forward to feel the warmth of her hand. Na Na always trying so hard to cheer him up.

Her silly requests ‘Sing for me.’

So he sang keeping her company and felt his heart ease in tension not realizing that he fell asleep. To gentle lull and warm beside him, when he woke up a few hours later he notices that he was alone with only Ya Nuo and his Uncle. The surgery was taking a long while and anxiety hit him, he wonders if in his dreams that it was a sign.

Did she leave to come see him? Was this a sign that he might be losing the one thing that kept life bearable, but it couldn’t be that life was that cruel right?

It wouldn’t give him a breath of fresh air to sweep along, he had to have hope in her, in that she would survive and pull through. Then the light of operation switch off and the familiar figure of the doctor came out.

The words, “The surgery was a success.” And he almost fell down from relief. She made it. She kept her promises and that life wouldn’t be so cruel to a pair of lovers that have yet to advance forward to grow old together.

Life only grants you one hundred years but already he use up thirty percent of his and he wanted to keep her with him. So now he had a chance and they would dutifully bound her to this earth to keep her beside them.

Ya Nuo voices alerted him to something wrong. The announcement of Zi Feng and Zhe Rui worries him. He felt relief that his bro was alright, he didn’t look harmed but the concern over Zhe Rui came along.  Ya Nuo had left for coffee for the both of them he could see exhaustion and concern over Zi Feng’s face.

“Zhe Rui almost died.” Zi Feng words were gritty from the smoke he inhaled from the fireworks. Qing Yang knew that Zi Feng was feeling guilty for everything that had happened. This incident was meant to harm and kill Zi Feng. Qing Yang didn’t like the conception that someone wanted to harm their leader.

“His alive.” Qing Yang reassures him, “We will make sure that he will be okay.”

Zi Feng said softly, “This is the second time that Zhe Rui interfered his life might be in jeopardy for this.” He rub his face, “I want to be angry but I don’t have the energy. He also asked me to give up Ya Nuo to him but…”

“I seriously doubt you could even give up.” Qing Yang wave his hand off.

“You seem to know me well enough.” Zi Feng gave a dirty glance at Qing Yang reassuring that the leader still had his common sense and wasn’t going to be a pitiful fool.

Qing Yang nods his head, “Of course.” The approaching sound he became quiet as Ya Nuo handed the coffee to him and Zi Feng. “Thank you.”

Ya Nuo sat down beside Zi Feng. Now a sobering thought came along in Qing Yang mind, as he took a sip of the terrible hospital coffee. “Even though there is always someone wanting the spot of leader, but using such fatal method,” he hesitated, “looks like the mastermind behind this bores a deep grudge against you.”

A few names were flashing through both men’s mind as to whom it might be.

“Who do you think did it?” Ya Nuo asked.

Zi Feng was silent but nodded his head, “Qing Yang.”

Qing Yang already had a feeling everything was going to blow up in someone’s face.

“I want to quickly investigate more about the cuff link. Maybe it can help my dad regain his memories back.” Zi Feng brought it up and already Qing Yang had people advance the search faster.

“Don’t worry; I’ve been investigating about the cuff link.” There was no way that Qing Yang would let go the first lead he had in such a long time.

Zi Feng brought up the next business, “And also, don’t let Uncle Tian, Zi Han, and my mother know about this. I don’t want them to worry.”

Qing Yang nods his head; he knew that it was a concern since it might be an internal matter, since they confirm it was someone internal and not external, look like Zi Feng life was in jeopardy because of the triad seat.

“Ya Nuo, I need a favor from you.” Zi Feng stated seriously as he touches Ya Nuo shoulder, the affinity between the two were astonishing. Qing Yang could belief how someone like Ya Nuo could be mistaken to be a boy for so long. The mannerism is like a man.

“Tell me.” Ya Nuo stated.

Zi Feng look like he is struggling with something, “Put more attention on my mom’s and Zi Han’s safety. Qing Yang is taking care of Na Na, so I can only rely on you.”

It was a smart move after all, Qing Yang agrees, he had place many men to allergy guard the Du family and Ya Nuo would be more safer with them.

The public display of affection was something he was use to by now from the two, seeing them grip hands and the soft words, “You also need to be careful.” These two should seriously get married soon since he could see the tension between the two. Unable to stand the two, Qing Yang stated softly.

“I’ll go accompany Na Na.” She was already move to a room and was resting from the surgery. Seeing the two being so well together made him long for his own. It also meant giving the two love birds privacy.

It was growing late already, entering the dim hospital room he notices his Uncle rubbing his face in exhaustion. Looking down at the pink color bed and stripe pajamas of the hospital Qing Yang relaxes to see the sleeping face of his girlfriend.

Xing Tian bends closer to him and said softly, “I’m going to go out to buy something, please take care of Na Na.” He knew that the older man was giving him time to be beside Na Na, since he was denied it from Na Na’s original concern.

“Thank you, Uncle.” Qing Yang calls him on his actions just by those words.

Qing Yang slowly ease himself into the chair beside her bed, and watches her face relieve, he took her hand in his own cradling it in his palms. “That day, the wishes we wrote on the sky lantern, God has received it.” He was so thankful for it all. The surgery is very successful.” He took in a deep breath of pride, “It was hard on you.” This surgery took a lot out of Na Na but he was so thankful she was staying beside him. “I know that you don’t want me to worry.” He didn’t resent her for that.
They were newly minted lovers as he would coin the phrase. “You only show me your cheerful and happy side.”

The confession before made him realize how much Na Na love him so deeply that she would bear the pain silently. “But what I want to undertake is not just your happiness.” He brought her hand up to kiss the back. Reassuring himself she was beside him still not gone. The warm in her hand gave him strength that she would get better. “This is the last time.”

His pride and desire for her was growing, “No matter what happens…whether you are willing or not, I will never let you go through it alone.” He was making a promise and threat to her, because he wouldn’t stay out in the future.

They would continue their relationship she would be his responsibility and love. Someone for him to take care of to go through bitter and happy times together, everything of hers would belong to him and vice versa. He wasn’t like those other men out there just because of a hitch or a bump of pain he would give up and throw away the woman he truly understood that he loves deeply.

The saying you don’t know what you have until it was gone, he was glad he learn this at an early age, he was more mature compare to others. He wanted someone to grow old with; he didn’t want to look anywhere else, because when Na Na swept into his world, she became everything for him.

Kissing her hand he slowly brought it down and covers her up with the blanket, while touching her shoulders noticing the necklace back into place. He smiles pressing his lips against her forehead; he didn’t think it was proper to steal another kiss from her lips when she was unconscious. “You aren’t alone. You have me.”

He would keep that promise to her. Let her be happy and sad together. He headed to the café because he had to take care of it while his Uncle took care of Na Na. A call in midafternoon reassured him.
“She is awake and doing alright.” Xing Tian said happily. He could see the glee in his Uncle’s voice.

“I am glad.” Qing Yang said softly, “I will go to the hospital later tonight to check on her while she sleeps.”

“That’s fine.”  Xing Tian hums and he felt reassured by how his Uncle was reacting. He did so wish he could talk to Na Na but they were all pretending not to know about her surgery.

A few days passed and the routine went on, the doctor had done the surgery and was monitoring her. His Uncle had paid extra money to ensure she was in the hospital longer until they were absolutely certain the danger period passed.

Picking up Guo Lai he gave a smile at the bunny. “Your mother is still recovering, so only daddy is here to take care of you.” He place on a dish some hay and watches over the bunny trying to see if she would eat something.

The appetite of the little mammal wasn’t as great and he wonder if she notices the disappearance of her mother. He made a bottle of milk and slowly check to see if the bunny would feed, it did. He continued to make coffee keeping an eye out on the bunny daughter of theirs.

An order of coffee blended and he slowly pours the hot water into the filter paper slowly, when his phone to the side started to ring and vibrate. Glancing at it he smiles, clicking on the accept button of line. “Hello.” He held the phone up.

The smiling face of Na Na made him relax.

“Hi! Did I scare you by video chatting you?” Na Na look excited to see him.

Instead of answering her he diverted the topic, “How’s Venice? Have you been eating and sleeping well?” Seeing her awake and lively was a blessing in his mind. His face was smiling at the phone.
Technology was so wonderful but he sometimes wonder if that girl knew that sometimes phones did not work internationally unless you pay money for a sim card.

Na Na nods her head, “Yes.” Her eyes sparkle, “moreover, I miss you very much and…” Her mind seem to jump to somewhere else, “And my dear daughter Guo Lai? Where is she?”

Of course she would be worried over her pet. “Hold on.” Luckily he kept the bunny near him, reaching down he pick her up carefully with his left hand. Presenting her to Na Na.

“Hi! Guo Lai! Guo Lai did you miss mommy?” Na Na spoke like she was talking to her baby. “Mommy misses you.”

Though Qing Yang believes that her message was to him mostly, she just transfer all her love to the bunny, whom seem to hold steal as she hears the familiar voice of her human mother. Kissing the bunny, he places it gently back on the counter near its food bowl.

“I miss you. So much.” Qing Yang decided to be blunt since she deserve a reward.

Na Na looks happy and said, “I also…” Qing Yang guest his Uncle was there what with the name Tian Tian that came out of her mouth telling the person to the side to leave. Yes Na Na was terrible at lying.

“What’s wrong?” Qing Yang help cover the issue.

Na Na said, “It’s nothing just a couple of friends and I were going to go out to dinner.”

“What were you going to say?” Qing Yang just wanted to hear her voice.

“Just wanted to tell you I really miss you.” Na Na look flustered her cheeks blushing. “Really, really miss you…”

“Then hurry up and come home.” Qing Yang said he felt eager to feel her in his arms again.

“Yes I know.” Na Na said as she chatted, “The first thing when I go home is to drink your coffee and your cake.” She watches him on the screen and he felt tender by her words. “And we will take Guo Lai to that place where we release the sky lantern last time.”

Qing Yang gave a smile pouring more water into the coffee cup filter and softly said, “And we will go on a trip somewhere? Maybe the beach?”

“I would like that…I want to see the waters.” Na Na said happily.

They chatted for a bit but he was called away. Disappointment lingers between the two, but duties call. Cleaning up the plates that were left by customers, he heard the door swing open. “Uncle why did you come back?” He felt shocked by Xing Tian’s appearance.

Xing Tian laughs, “Na Na said I am gone from the café for so long. It might cause you to be suspicious, so she asked me to go back.”

Qing Yang really dislikes the dancing around, to keep the secret, even though it was meant well.
“So I thought I might as well come back. I also bought some ingredient to make a tonic for her.” Xing Tian showed the items. Qing Yang smiles nodding his head glad that Na Na was able to eat something. “Na Na really likes to drink the rib soup that I brew.”

The bond between father and daughter was great, “That’s good.”

“That video chat was pretty good, right? It was my idea.” Xing Tian bragged and Qing Yang knew the man wanted to point out his help in their relationship.

“Thank you, Uncle.” Qing Yang had a few of his mood sated from just seeing and hearing Na Na.
Xing Tian beams, “I am going to the kitchen, Okay?”

“Okay.” Qing Yang agrees, but the sudden ringing of the door and appearance of Uncle Wan Hao. He knew that Uncle Tian would be addressing the issues of what had occurred. It also means that issues might have happened. Na Na identity was given to Wan Hao. The man was happy over Na Na; it also meant that Xing Tian may be out of the issue of danger since Na Na sickness. But disclosing a weakness meant that Qing Yang would be guarding Na Na closely and also including more men.

The discussion that happened he listens in as he continued to make the coffee. He presented the coffee to both men and then shows the cuff link. He watches and observes Wan Hao’s face. He had his suspicion of who it could have been but the way Wan Hao behaved leaving quickly was already a hint.

Qing Yang would be searching deeply now he felt he was almost close to discovering of who could have done harm to their three families.
