Summary: It should have been me and it will be me in the end.
It Hurt. The freedom gained by the death of her surrogate mother Lady Oh. It was worthless because one by one each woman Soo look up too or loved died. Leaving her alone. It wasn’t the dying that was the pitiful it was the ones left behind in Soo’s mind.
The betrayal of Wook when he didn’t beg the king to spare Lady Oh. The pain when he abandon her in the decision for his own family and Soo knew what Lady Oh meant. She understood why she wanted her to leave with her to outside but that blind love that Soo had meant her mother would have to die.
Inwardly, Soo kept on repeating in her mind, ‘I should of died.’ It shouldn’t have been Lady Oh but rather her. The death sentence for Soo was the death of those she love. Each part of herself she invested and built using them as pillars were taken out until only a few pegs were in place.
It Hurt.
Until the pieces of her heart and body lay shattered into pieces and she could feel her soul being scattered by each betrayal. Until gentle hands pull her together and the constant companion that stood beside her sheltering her. Slowly a string crept along embedding into each pieces of herself until she was whole again and breathe life into her.
The man she come to love. The man she feared of the future and yet the gentle man that felt he was wronged. She started to believe in him even as he chips a part of her when he claims he no longer feels for her. He was lying to her because she understood and day in day out she would write the poem he wrote for her.
She would look upon places and see only him, but the thought of him coming back was enough to draw her out of her icy stance. Until finally she gave herself to him because she loves him.
Even when he married another woman, even when he kills a person that Soo was fond off and reveal it was Wook. Soo couldn’t take all of this death and killing because to her she knew these people. She seen these people whose faces are that of silence and death.
Soo felt herself break one by one and so to separate herself she was willing to finally die in loneliness because she felt So no longer needed her.
